Selection Procedure of Short Service Commission in Indian Army

Short Service Commission (JAG) Men & Women: You must have earned your LLB degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 55%. The candidates should also be qualified for registration with the State or Bar Council of India. Applicants will also need to submit their CLAT (PG) score. Officers are recruited through this entry throughout the months of February and August. Last but not least, there is no written test for this entry.

Short Service Commission For Women (Officers)

The Indian Army also offers Short Service Commission for Women (Officers) in various technical and non-technical fields. Training for Short Service Commission in Indian Army

  • Up to the number of openings and subject to completing all eligibility requirements, selected candidates would be detained for training at Officers Training Academy, Chennai based on their rank in the final order of merit (engineering stream-wise).
  • 49 weeks make up the training period.
  • During the training time, candidates are not permitted to reside with their parents or guardians or get married. Before completing their whole training at the Officers Training Academy, candidates cannot be married. If a candidate marries while undergoing training, they will be fired and must reimburse the government for all expenses incurred. Widows of military personnel are likewise covered by this provision. Despite passing the medical exam and interview with the Service Selection Board, a candidate who marries after the submission date of their application will not be admitted for training and their application will be withdrawn.
  • The government pays for all OTA training. The University of Madras will award all candidates who successfully complete Pre Commission training at the Officers Training Academy in Chennai with a “Post Graduate Diploma in Military Management and Strategic Studies.”
