The first stage involves the shortlisting of applications based on the cut-off determined by IHQ MoD (Navy) for the Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews. The cut-off is determined using the JEE (Main) All India Common Rank List (CRL), and candidates are required to mention their rank as per the CRL in their application. 

1- Shortlisting Candidates: This process involves the SSB interview, which takes place in different cities of India. Selected candidates will be notified via e-mail and SMS using the contact details provided in their application. It is vital for candidates to ensure that their email address and mobile number remain unchanged throughout the selection process. 

2- SSB Interview: The SSB Interview is conducted in two stages. The first stage, known as the Screening test, comprises an Intelligence test, Picture Perception, and Group Discussion. Candidates who do not qualify in Stage I will be sent back on the same day. The second stage, known as Stage II, involves Psychological testing, Personal Interview, and Group testing, which takes place over a duration of four days. Successful candidates will then undergo a Medical Examination, which typically lasts for three to five working days. 

3-Merit List: Following the SSB interviews and Medical Examination, a merit list will be prepared based on the candidate’s performance in the SSB. Candidates declared fit in the medical examination will be appointed based on their position on the merit list, subject to police verification, character verification, and the availability of vacancies in the respective branch.
